Shop Assistant

We are looking for the right shop assistant to become part of our team. Ideally, we are seeking someone strong to help load the truck, process flowers, scrub buckets and do the "dirty work" around the shop while keeping a positive attitude, a smile on their face and having a bit of fun. Hours are 9am - 2pm Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and... weekend hours that tend to change depending on the weddings & events booked. 

This is a great job for someone with no floral experience that wants a foot in the door.  Although this is not a design position it does have potential to grown into a design position for the right person.

Amber's AMAZING Aisle

Yesterday at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club we designed an aisle that I have been dreaming about for months.  Thank you to Amber & Nick for selecting Intrigue to create your dream wedding.

This design required nearly 750 Roses and a lot of time.  It was all worth it!  I LOVE the way the starfish plays against the Eastern Shore background.

Intrigue is expanding and we are looking for a fun and motivated sales representative to focus on Weddings & Events in the Annapolis, Baltimore and DC area.  The ideal candidate for this position will have prior event and networking experience.

We are also in need of a part-time studio assistant.  No experience needed.

Hurricane Globe 20 Ways

When given the task of designing flowers for the Perfect Wedding Guild luncheon at the Historic Gov. Calvert House in Annapolis we decided to have some fun.  This venue offers brides the use of their hurricane globes and we have always found this to be a challenge to work into our designs.  So on the 28th of April, 2010 on a beautiful spring day we designed 20 hurricane globes in 20 different ways.

Classic Hurricane set on top of a soft bed of Hydrangea, Roses, Hypericum Berries and Freesia accented by a climbing spray of Mini Roses appearing to grow out of the base

"Feng Shui" $155+

Artistic Armature of natural River Cane, Dendrobium Orchids and subtle Callas set in the Hurricane vase accented with Navy and white Grosgrain ribbon.

"Cabbage Patch" $35+

Unexpected cabbage leaves wired to the base of the Hurricane accented with a trio of matching cabbage wrapped votives.

Giant Callas and Bear Grass in classic cylinder vase placed inside the Hurricane accented with Mini Callas artistically secured to the outside of the Hurricane.

Natural Moss base with Tulips appearing to grow out of the table encased by the Hurricane and surrounded by 4 moss wrapped votives accented with Navy and White Grosgrain ribbon.

Cluster of 4 Tulips nosegays set in Hurricane vase accented with a center of white orchids.  The entire display is set on top of a plain Hurricane.

Grand display of Anemone, Hydrangea, Ranunculus, Freesia, Stock, Hydrangea, Roses, Hypericum Berries and Brazillia Berries finished with the Hurricane resting on top.

Dressing the Menu Card

Menu cards are an important element to a well dressed table. If your salads are being pre-set having a menu card on each setting may not work. Instead ask your floral or paper designer to create custom menu card holders to showcase these cards as a finishing touch to your reception.

This custom menu card holder was created using fern shoots and moss for the What's Up Annapolis show.

Enchanted Haven Horse Rescue

Many of us think about animal shelters and soup kitchens when making donations.  However, horses need our help too.  I am asking that our clients and associates help Intrigue in supporting Enchanted Haven Horse rescue out of Caroline county.  This wonderful farm offers shelter, food and love for horses in need.

Chase Court Bride

Intrigue is now an "Award Winning Floral Design Firm"

On March 21, 2010 Melissa took home 3rd place at the Potomac Valley Flower Competition.  The competion asked that she create a centerpiece for a "Classy Mothers Day Brunch".  As you can see Melissa created her centerpiece using a basic hat embelished with stylish callas, classic roses and whimsical pussy willow.

I Do Brunch preview

We have been asked to participate in the 2010 I Do Brunch.  For this event we will be styling and designing flowers for four tables.  As I know there are lots of planners out there dying for a sneak peak I have decided to give you a little preview. 

One of our tables will be dressed in a fabulous hat inspired by our designer Melissa Huston's award winning "Mothers Day Brunch" design.

Seasonal Centerpieces

On Sunday we took part of two great events in Washington, DC. In conjunction with DC Rentals we designed and styled a table for each season at the L'enfant Plaza Hotel Open House. This was also the pit stop for the Amazing Bridal Hunt produced by Exquisite Gems Events where Melissa was on hand to help brides build a bouquet. This was a lot of fun. Blizzard Bride

Don Bryant spent Saturday with this fun couple who tied the knot at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis during this weekend's Blizzard. I'm not sure who the florist was, but, they need a pat on the back as well. Keeping flowers bright and crisp can be a challenge during extreme weather. The bride's bouquet looks FABULOUS!
