We are thrilled to see that Melanie & Sam's Summer wedding has been featured in Baltimore Bride Magazine. This was a fabulous couple with a stunning decor design.
Thank you to Dennis Drenner for capturing these wonderful images.
We also owe thanks to Melody of Historic Events for seeing that each detail came together as planned. Weddings are always a little more fun when a wedding planner like Melody is in charge.

Finally, thank you to Melanie and Sam for selecting us to create your wedding flowers and decor.

How Much Does It Cost

On our last posting SPROUT commented on the price listing we gave for the Manzanita display and asked that we do this going forward. I think this is a great idea and have decided to add this to our posts.
Pricing can be a challenge in the event industry as there are numerous variables including season, venue, complexity, designer, location and even weather. So, keep in mind pricing will be estimates only and you may find them to be priced higher or even lower than our estimates.

I'd like to start with the basics. This is a boutonniere INTRIGUE created using White Dendrobium Orchids accented with subtle bear grass touch and natural wrapped stems. This style has become very popular and is currently my favorite boutonniere style.
(est cost: $10 - $18)

Manzanita at it's best

With the winter wedding season just around the corner I have been seeing lots of request for branches. In particular brides have shown an interest in Manzantia Branches. The image above was sent to me by Laura as inspiration for her January reception. The natural lines of the branches are a great compliment for the soft wintry feel of the Phaleanopsis Orchids adding a subtle hint of life to the wintry piece. The natural bed of washed river rocks add the finishing touch to this escort table (seating card table)

This is not a cheap piece by any means. You should expect to pay anywhere from $350 to $600 for a piece of this caliber depending on your designer. Although this is a pricey decor element it may just add that exciting pop you are looking for at your winter wedding.

LOVE this pic

While sorting for inspiration for one of my Art Deco styled brides I pulled this image up. This bride had a lot of fun on her wedding day. LOVE the hair! Enjoy!

Mark Lovett

Yesterday we had the opportunity to work with a new photographer. He's not exactly new, but, he is new to us. This afternoon I pulled out his card and decided to check out his blog. To my amazement a slide show of the yesterday's wedding was already posted. Needless to say I was astounded at the quality and quick turn around. Mark Lovett is the type of photographer I want to have at all of my events.

Lilly's Story

The Lily is the most popular wedding flower. Recently the Calla Lily has gained more popularity than the traditional Star Gazer or the Casablanca Lily. However, it is still the flower of choice for many brides. I never gave the Lily much thought, however, in February one of my closest friends named her little girl Lilliana Grace. Now each time I meet with a bride and discuss this classic flower the image of little "Lilly" is on my mind.

Today I wanted to share a recent photo of Lilly so that all of you can see the image that comes to me when discussing lilies. She is quite inspiring!

Thank you to Nick & Stacy for sharing this fun photo!

Dressing your Cylinder

(Credit: flickr.com)
Cylinder vases are hotter than ever with the 2009 & 2010 brides. Dressing your cylinder can give it a custom look. Of course to have your designer dress each vase is going to be pricey, however, we offer our clients the opportunity to pick-up their rental vases several days in advance and dress them on their own. This gives the bride the opportunity to achieve that custom look while keeping her budget in check. (We are offering this on a trial basis)

Submerged Flowers

This has been the year of submerged flowers. It seems that over the last couple months almost every bride that has walked through our studio doors has inquired about submerged centerpieces. This was a hot trend in 2008 that continues to go strong in 2009.
